I don't have floorpans.  What's next?

​

 

That's the exciting part of CUSTOM building with Laurie Homes.  Do you dream of a workshop for your tools?  A large closet for your heels?  A man cave?  We think that's FANTASTIC.  We take your ideas as well as many resources from our idea inventory and together create your dream!

​

Should we buy a lot or land prior to meeting with your team?​

 

 

If you currently own a lot or land, we will walk your lot to make sure the home we design is situated on your land the perfect way for your lifestyle.  We take the burden of site planning and prepping off your shoulders.  If you do not own land yet, we can assist you in locating your desired homesite as well as researching to make sure that the land is viable to be built on.

What if I still have a home to sell?

​

 

No Problem!  We work with many talented real estate agents that can assist in the listing and timing for the sale of your home.  On average our homes take about four to six months to build.  We also have excellent working relationships with many lenders who can provide you with exactly the loan that fits your needs best.  We believe in teamwork at Laurie Homes.

Will Laurie Homes handle my site work for me?

​

Unlike some builders that expect you to prepare your site and have it "build ready" before they start, we do all of that for you.  Since every lot is different, as part of your lot walk and quote, we will estimate the costs involved to get your site ready for your new home.

​

 

Isn't picking out my design selections and staying under budget stressful?

​

​

The most thrilling part of working with Laurie Homes is that our designer will meet with you and help with your selections.  We will stay involved to help make sure you stay within your budget and still get the "look" you have in mind.

Do you have Model Homes or Homes Under Construction I can see?

​

 

We always have projects in multiple "stages" of construction.  Contact us for more information!

How long does it take from start to finish?

​

On average, it takes one to two months to design a new home and create construction documents, about two weeks to "create an estimate" to build the new home and about 30 days for a lender to close on the construction loan.  The actual build process takes about four to six months from start of foundation to move-in day!

​

What are some of your construction standards?

​

Every home is tailored to our customer's specific desires and needs.  However, we build by the following standards in most of the custom homes we build-

We frame 2x4 and/or 2x6 walls 16" on center. 

​

We encourage engineered roof and floor trusses but we also "stick build" 

depending on the most logical and affordable option for the design.

​

30-Year Architectural Shingles.

​

We encourage R-38-49 Attic Insulation and R-13 in the Walls.

​

Low-e Vinyl Windows by such brands as Quaker, Ply gem and Anderson.

​

We use ZipSystem exterior sheeting and encourage ZipSystem sheeting on the roof.

Energy Star Rated Appliances.

​

Vented Soffit and Ridge vent ventilation for for attic ventilation.

​

High efficiency Trane HVAC Units.

​

AdvanTech Subflooring throughout.

​

Granite Kitchen Countertops.

​

A combination of Hardwoods, Tile and Carpeting for the floors.

Custom designed cabinets and drawers with soft close feature.
